Katrina inspired by Imran to turn producer

Mumbai, Aug 11  Inspired with the relationship between her 'Mere Brother Ki Dulhan' co-star Imran Khan with his wife Avantika, Katrina Kaif has decided to produce her first film.

She will do her first ever truly intense, romantic film, a period film to be precise, with Imran.

The idea of a 'janam-janam ka saathi love-forever' film struck Katrina when she watched Imran interacting with his wife.

Katrina later told a friend: 'I felt a pang of envy for Imran's wife whose husband is so devoted, so 'all-there' for her and so not into cheating on her at all.'

She may even write the screenplay herself.

'It is my fantasy love-story. The kind of ideal love that I don't think is prevalent in today's day and age. When I see Imran with Avantika I see a togetherness spanning an entire lifetime,' Katrina said.

'I see them grow old together. That's not something I see in too many relationships these days. Imran is really devoted to his wife. That makes me feel so good about life and so hopeful about love,' Katrina said.

Katrina added: 'We recently shot some very romantic songs in Agra for 'Mere Brother Ki Dulhan'. Imran came across as very romantic on screen. We even did a takeoff on Salim-Anarkali as a small part of a song. Just for the heck of it.'

Akshay appeals British youth to stop violence

New Delhi, Aug 11 (IANS) Britain riots have taken Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar by surprise. Just back from London after wrapping up a shooting schedule of 'Housefull 2', he feels misled youth are responsible for the mayhem.
'England is now being destroyed by its very own misled youths. The circumstance for which these horrific riots came about is very sad, but this is no way to handle vengeance,' Akshay posted on microblogging site Twitter.
'I really hope everyone back in England keep themselves as well as their families safe. Stay low for a while or if u want fight back, but safely, it is your prerogative after all...,' he said.
Urging people to stop being violent, Akshay said: 'I understand why people are angry but in this day and age how do humans still react the same way cave men once did.'
'Good old England, the very country so many rely on, is being battered by its own angered youngsters who have threatened & abused the very city that has taken care of them!' he added.

Violence began Aug 6 in London's northern district of Tottenham over the fatal shooting of a man by police. Rioters started stalking streets, looting stores and burning buildings. The unrest soon spread to other cities like Manchester, Salford, Liverpool, Wolverhampton, Nottingham, Leicester and Birmingham.

Katrina Kaif Shoots A Song For Free In Salman’s Bodyguard

Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif’s is a classic case of exes continuing to stay good friends and in this case Katrina Kaif seems to be in the mood to do anything to maintain that friendship with Khan and his khandaan (family).

Katrina Kaif, who had earlier said that she’s grateful to the Khan family for being so generous to her when she entered the industry, seems to be in a mood to return the favour.

So she shot a song for free in Atul Agnihotri’s film, “Bodyguard”. The song which goes, Aaya Re Aaya Bodyguard…, is touted as Katrina’s first item number, post the very successful Sheila Ki Jawani.

Though there is every chance that the song would surely add to the entertainment value of the movie, some things clearly go beyond money for the actress.

Producer Atul Agnihotri confirms, “It is very gracious of her to have done this. She has always been very supportive of our work and is ready to contribute in whatever way possible”.

Interestingly, this is not the only time Katrina Kaif has gone that extra mile to keep up her friendship with the Khan family.

Atul further adds, “We have all known her for years now and she is part of our family. Even in my earlier movie Hello, she had to do a guest appearance and did it free of cost”.

Though Salman Khan has admitted to not really having watched a single movie of Katrina’s, the actress makes sure she invites Salman’s sister Alvira for every special screening of her movies.

According to a source, “Just before the release of her movie Raajneeti, even when rumours were rife that all is not well between Katrina Kaif and Salman Khan, she made sure she invited Alvira for her preview”.

Salman Khan To Lose Weight To Build A Lean Body For Ek Tha Tiger

Salman Khan has become meaner, if his recent spate of fights are anything to go by and now, the star is all set to get leaner too. Kabir Khan, the director of his next project “Ek Tha Tiger” with YRF, has asked the actor to shed a few extra kilos and get rid of his bulky frame and replace it with a leaner physique and Salman too agreed with the suggestion. The actor will now have to get into the desired shape within a month.

This leaner look has been prescribed for the actor’s new shirtless avatar in the film, which requires him a look fit and street smart. Needless to say, this time around, going shirtless for the Khan will involve a little more than just ripping off his shirt a la Wanted style.

A source close to the project revealed, “Salman Khan has to perform several rescue acts and go shirtless for many scenes in ‘Ek Tha Tiger’. Salman Khan has always been known for his muscular frame. But this time around, the director Kabir Khan wants him to get a lot leaner for his act. He wants Salman Khan to look street smart. In fact, it was Salman himself who thought that losing weight would help him get into the required character”.

Salman Khan who likes the idea of getting into a leaner frame has started working out for the same already. The source added, “Salman Khan has started a strict gymming routine. He has already started dieting. No more biryani parties at his place for the time being”.

The action sequences to be shot in Iraq and other locations around the globe involve various international technicians who have already given their dates for the same. The source added, “The first major action sequence will be shot in Dublin, exactly a month from now. The international technicians will arrive on the dates given to them. Their dates are not flexible. So the shoot has to happen on the allotted dates”.

Salman Khan has to get ready for the same within a given time frame to meet the physical requirements. The source said, “Salman Khan has to lose the extra weight fast. He has deadline to meet since the shoot dates can not be delayed any further”.

Salman Khan had taken shirtless’ness’ seriously post his Oh Jaane Jaana song in Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya co-starring Kajol. Since then, the actor has flaunted his near perfect physique in almost all his films. The actor known for his attachment to gymming and cycling on the roads of Bandra has been named one of the best bodies of Bollywood over and over again. In fact Salman Khan was known for giving tips to newcomers about bodybuilding.

Sonam and Shahid communicate through letters

We have all kinds of directors who make their actors go through all kinds of training and workshops to get into the skin of the role.
But what Pankaj Kapoor got Shahid Kappor and Sonam Kapoor to do was really astounding and guess they continue to do so.

Pankaj Kapoor wanted Shahid and Sonam to stop using the phone, sms or any short format for communication.
He wanted them to write handwritten letters to communicate for two months before they started shooting with each other. Initially both hated it.

Today's generation is very keen and communicates with 140 characters on sms and for them to write a note was cumbersome.
Pankaj Kapoor says, "I belong to different school of acting. Everything that my actors do have to be contextual. I made Shahid and Sonam go through this extensive exercise so that they could start feeling like the characters they plan. It took some time as first we need to break inhibitions, then develop new habits and then fall in love."
Also both didn't know how to write! So he put a strict rule that unless and until they go through this exercise he will not start shooting.
Both wrote really bad notes for two weeks which left the director Pankaj Kapoor fuming and baffled.

Pankaj Kapoor felt that it was very important for them to be able to write their thoughts down. And also since Pankaj Kapoor belongs to theatre he applied all mythologies of theatre.

Interestingly, the two got so used to writing letters that they continue to do so even today. Now it's been two years that they have continued this exercise.
